Australian Mutual Bank is committed to minimising paper usage and ran a campaign earlier this year to encourage our members to switch from paper to online statements to help reduce paper waste.
In recognition of our members who have made the choice to go paperless, we are excited to announce that we have arranged for 100 trees to be planted through the amazing work of ReForest Now – a not-for-profit reforestation organisation that is committed to the restoration of Australian rainforest areas.
As the ethical alternative, we embrace our responsibility to promote sustainability and reduce our environmental impact. We believe that small actions can make a big difference, and we are proud to support ReForest Now's mission to bring back the rainforest in Bundjalung Nation (Byron Bay), where these trees will be planted. By participating in this regeneration work, we are helping to create a healthier ecosystem for future generations.
“170 years ago the largest rainforest in Australia was cut down in Byron Bay, and our mission today is to bring this national jewel back to life. Supporters who donate towards tree planting have helped to convert a significant minority of the entire landscape of this region back to rainforest in the past four years. This has been done with over 550 000 rainforest trees planted. Thank you for moving us another step towards sustainable businesses and living." – ReForest Now.
Why switch to online statements?
Not only do you help reduce the impact on the environment, online statements lower the risk of identity theft, as paper statements can be stolen from the mail. They are also quick and secure through our internet banking facility, where they can be viewed anywhere, anytime!
So if you haven’t already made the switch, it’s never too late, simply fill out our Online Statement Switch Form today.
We thank our members for your support and for being a part of our journey towards a greener, more sustainable future.
